The liturgical season of Advent begins next weekend.
This season has a twofold nature, both of them anticipatory:
- First, we are anticipating and preparing to celebrate Jesus’ first coming nearly two thousand years ago.
- And then at the end of Advent we earnestly prepare for Jesus’ second coming at the end of time.
Please be sure to take a bulletin next weekend (weekend of November 3–December 1). It will have a special inserted Advent calendar
with all of our liturgical offerings for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.
We will be emailing, through Flocknotes, a weekly Advent reflection called Rejoice! An Advent Pilgrimage into the Heart of Scripture for Year C.
It features short weekly videos with Fr. Mark Toups, Fr. Patrick Riviere, and Rebecca Aboud to help you enter more deeply into the
Advent season, find peace, and hear God’s voice in this busy time.
We hope these reflections will be of value to you as you prepare for the celebration of Christmas.
If we do not have an email address for you, please let the parish office know by calling
773 763-8228 or emailing: parishoffice@setparish.org .
Finally, because of the more somber nature of the season, we ask that no one add flowers to the side altars during Advent, other than those that will be there for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Thank you for your understanding.
