For at least a day, our city along with 1/3 of the nation came to a nearly complete stop to sit out this disruption of our routine. For us this is a great reminder that there are still many things in life that are beyond our control! Our secular culture often implies that the world is in our total control and should revolve around the wants of each individual. This is simply another way of denying the presence of God in our lives. There are some things we cannot control. This blizzard is an example of that. It’s so important for us as Catholic Christians to know that, though we may not control everything in our lives, God does have complete control. God’s loving care and protection are always there for us… even when the snow comes up to our knees!
