Nurturing their special gift from God – Grace – these Religious Education Grade 2 students
were assisted in visualizing this special gift through this class activity, demonstrating through
the grape vine model that they are part of this vine, as the branches. Each of the students were
given a white cardboard disk and told to imagine the disk to be Jesus, Who is present in the
Sacred Host, the Holy Eucharist. Bearing in mind this thought, each child came up with one
small act of love, or offered a short prayer of thanksgiving, or shared an ardent request with
Jesus, and after, wrote their names on their disks. Each child found a spot for their disks, on
the branches of the grape vine.
They acted the Bible verse, “I am the Vine, and you are the branches”.
