Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee is made up of parishioners and parish staff members who are responsible for planning parish liturgies. It plans overall themes for the major liturgical seasons of the church year, and does a thorough evaluation after each season.

It also acts as an advisor to the Director of Music regarding the musical content of the parish liturgies and gives direction to the Art & Environment Committee. The committee meets regularly, as the liturgical calendar of the Church year dictates.

Most of the members have joined the committee not having any special knowledge pertaining to the Mass. But all have the desire to learn. Members are encouraged to read basic liturgical documents. They may also be invited to attend workshops and seminars. Each meeting contains a significant amount of formation time.

Anyone that has a love for the liturgy or wants to increase their knowledge and understanding of the liturgy is invited to join the Liturgy Committee. This is an ideal ministry for those who may be more comfortable working “behind the scenes.”
