Music

The Music Program at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish embraces the mission of service to one another and the larger community in the name of Jesus Christ.

Commissioned to spread the Word, our musicians respond by making music for the “honor and glory of God.”

Musicians serve in the most important gathering of the church, the liturgy, enabling the faithful to experience their faith through music.

For more information, contact our Music Director, Mark Wozniczka, at 773-763-8228 or mwozniczka@archchicago.org .

Ensembles

The Parish Choir sings repertoire from the rich musical heritage of the Catholic Church, from Gregorian chant to 21st century compositions.

In addition to learning liturgical repertoire, members of the Parish Choir receive training in vocal technique, reading music, and singing in parts.

The Parish Choir rehearses Tuesdays from 7:15 pm -8:15 pm in the Church and sings at the 9am Sunday Mass.

Parish Choir runs from the Tuesday after Labor Day through Corpus Christi.

The Guitar Ensemble provides music for the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Masses about once every three weeks.

If contemporary Christian music helps you praise God more fervently, then you should try attending one of the Guitar Ensemble’s upcoming masses.

The Guitar Ensemble is scheduled to play on November 2, November 23, and December 14.

The Guitar Ensemble always prepares a prayerful prelude song, so you are encouraged to arrive early to sing/pray the prelude song with us.

Similarly, the Guitar Ensemble prepares a joyous postlude song.

You are invited and encouraged to stay after mass to sing/pray the postlude song.

We need one or two more soprano singers. If you are interested, and you have some basic knowledge of reading music, please contact Brian Hirami at 773-710-4873.

Instrumentalists

Instruments such as trumpet, trombone, flute, violin, viola, oboe, clarinet, harp, guitar and percussion are used as supplemental instrumentation for ensembles.

Cantors

Cantors must have music reading skills and the ability to sing in tune and tempo with accompaniment.

Rehearsals are 30 minutes prior to Mass.
