We NEED YOUR HELP!!
Many of you are here week after week attending Mass.
Have you ever thought of taking the next step and volunteering to be a Lay Liturgical Minister at Mass or a Lector or Usher?
We specifically are looking for:
- More Lectors (readers) for 5:00 pm (Saturday), 7:30 am and 11:00 am Sunday
- Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, especially for 5:00 pm (Saturday) and 11:00 am Sunday
- Ushers, especially for 5:00 pm (Saturday), 7:30 am and 11:00 am Sunday
God has blessed each of us with gifts and talents.
Will you will consider sharing some of yours by
volunteering to join one of these ministries?
Please prayerfully consider this request.
Contact Jim Madura at 773-763-8228 or jmadura@archchicago.org for information.
Thank you for you consideration!
Ushers are ministers who show hospitality to people attending Sunday Mass. Some of their duties include, but are not limited to: greeting people as they arrive for Mass, helping to pass the collection basket, directing the Communion procession and distributing the bulletin as worshipers exit.
We are the first persons that people meet when they come to church. Our job is to make them feel welcome, wanted, valued, and special. In addition, ushers provide the logistical services that allow the Mass to run smoothly and attend to the myriad details that are part and parcel of large gatherings.
They are welcoming, dependable, flexible and active participants in the liturgy. Ushers are present at weekend Masses and are needed to help on Holy Days and at other special liturgies.
Persons interested in learning more about being an usher, please call the Rectory at 773-763-8228 or email Jim Madura at jmadura@archchicago.org .
