March 29, 2014

The very best about St. Tarcissus Church shined through at the Confirmation Mass on Saturday, March 29. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Francis Kane, Fr. Mike Solazzo, and Fr. Dan McCarthy, with the assistance of Deacon Greg Bzdon. I would like to publicly thank everyone who pitched in and helped make the day perfect.

First, our arts and environment team had the church looking great. It looked ready for a very sacred celebration. Our parish maintenance staff had everything in order. I know you worked hard, thank you.

If I can use a baseball analogy I would say our music people hit a grand slam (out of the park). Paul Matijevic, Dani Binzak, Lauren DiCiaula, and the children’s choir brought sounds of heaven to earth for over two hours. WOW! WOW!

Our altar servers where on top for their game as always, and received complements from the bishop’s master of ceremony. Thank to Emma Gillespie, Lilly Goworowski, Sarah Lach, Bobby McNaughton, and Hailey Staunton.

Our three student readers, Meghan Harrity, Alexis Klima, and Michael Crawford were excellent . Now that you have been confirmed you need to contact Jim Madura and get on the regular lector rotation at Mass.

Thank you to all the teachers and catechists who helped to make sure the Mass was a prayerful experience. The following teachers and catechists were on hand to assist: Mary Ellen Gold, Rebecca Gold, Jeanne Peraino, Kathy Danno, Rich Krzemien, Mary Klug, Nicole McGrath, Mary McCann, and Liz Stasiowski. Also, thank you to Principal Roy Hecker and Bishop Kane’s master of ceremonies Mr. Charlie Plovanich. I hope I’ve remembered everyone.

A special thanks to the Confirmandi, sponsors, parents, and guests. I hope each of you found the Mass to be as special as I did. It is much more fun to worship in a full church with people that are all there for a common purpose. All of you made my day.

God Bless Everyone.
