Learn About the Two Blesseds Being Canonized by Pope Leo XIV

On Sunday September 7, 2025 Pope Leo XIV will canonize two Blesseds: Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati. These are both contemporary young men.

EWTN has two wonderful documentaries to help you and your family celebrate the canonizations of Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati:

From Father Deo’s Weekly Letter:

We give thanks to God for the canonization of two beloved young laypeople who continue to inspire us with their profound examples of Christian discipleship: Blessed Carlo Acutis (1991–2006) and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901–1925).

Frassati, a young lay Dominican from Turin, Italy, was known for his deep spirituality and tireless service to the poor.

He lived a life rooted in prayer and charity, embodying the Gospel in every aspect of his daily routine.

Acutis, a saint of our times, speaks especially to the hearts of young people.

He lived a short, but radiant life and gave us a powerful and relatable witness of what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ in the modern world.

Here is the official prayer requesting the intercession of future Saint Carlo Acutis:

Oh God, our Father, thank you for giving us Carlo,
a model of life for young people and a message of love for all.
You have made him fall in love with your son Jesus,
making the Eucharist his “highway to heaven.”
You have given him Mary as a very beloved Mother,
and you have made him,
with her Rosary,
become a singer of her tenderness.
She welcomes his intercession for us.
He looks above all at the poor,
whom he loved and helped.

[Grant me also, through his intercession, the grace I need…]

And make our joy full,
leading Carlo among the saints of the universal Church,
so that his smile continues to shine for us and for the glory of your name.
Amen

And here is a prayer to Pier Giorgio asking for his intercession, called Prayer for the Courage To Be Great

Heavenly Father,
Give me the courage to strive for the highest goals,
to flee every temptation to be mediocre.
Enable me to aspire to greatness, as Pier Giorgio did,
and to open my heart with joy to Your call to holiness.
Free me from the fear of failure.
I want to be, Lord, firmly and forever united to You.
Grant me the graces I ask You through Pier Giorgio’s intercession,
by the merits of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.
